Dave

Thanks for the info. Looks like I"ll change my plans. I'll probably come down Friday night (2/12) to possibly Tuesday (2/16) sometime.

I'm no Combat Commander expert I probably have 4 games under my belt. Each time I've played I realized I missed some rules.

I'm pretty familiar with Space Empires since one of the developers for Space Empires: Replicators lives in my area.

Kingdom of Heaven and Downtown are 2 of the many games I have sitting in my closet that I've wanted to get on the table. I should probably list all my unplayed games in case someone wants to play them

A few months ago, there was discussion of some CDGs in this thread. I'd like somebody who has a copy to commit to running Here I Stand, Virgin Queen, or War and Peace on the second Friday evening. Then we could shop for players to commit to playing.

Anyone?

Todd

I have copies of Here I Stand and Virgin Queen and know the rules. I played HIS last year. I can commit to bringing them and played the second Fri. Since you are a well known veteran of WFest, would you like to post it under your nom de guerre and find other players (perhaps under "Who is doing what at Winterfest")?

Mark

I'd be interested in playing some of the games that you posted about last month. I don't plan on being in on a monster game, so I'd have more time for:
Any COIN Series (GMT)
Combat Commander (GMT)
Commands & Colors: Anciens or Napoleonic (GMT)
Empire of the Sun (GMT)
Kingdom of Heaven (MMP)

I haven't played a COIN game, but would like to try them. Don't they need 4 players?
I have the new US Civil War (Simonitch) which I would love to play with someone.

Send me a private message and we can coordinate better on specific games.

Thomas:

I'll send a note to ThatLee, who doesn't hang out here much, and see if he'd be interested in any of these. I know he plays Kingdom of Heaven....

Kingdom of Heaven would be fun. Also I'm a newbie with Fire in the Lake but that would be fun too.

We can playing using the "bots" but 4 "real" players would be much better

I also have the new GMT Civil War game. I am on my second reading of the rules. It should flow smoothly but there are a few quirks buried in the rules that aren't clearly mentioned in the outline of steps at the start. Looks like it should be interesting.

What's a "COIN" game? In my world, that's COunter-INsurgency, but it probably stands for something else in the wargaming world.

Thomas is bringing a few of the big CDG's and I'm itching to play Here I Stand again, or to try Virgin Queen. If this could be your thing, please plan to play on the final Friday. As always, if a crew can be put together on a particular evening after some folks drift away from the main games, these could make great evening games. Thomas, I recall HIS as having quite a few possible players, but how does the game handle having fewer players? Does one player operate separate empires as distinct entities? I can't see how a historical game like HIS would work with neutral or non-player empires (yes, we have no Protestant player, but we'll still have wars of religion!).

That said, who expects to still be on-hand and playing by Friday afternoon? By Saturday? (I ...hope...to play Saturday and go home Sunday, if there are enough people hanging on to play that long.)
