But wait!

I just saw a post on our Consimworld page, there are 2 guys (John Loy, Ric Van Dyke) interested in some BtR.

Lee or John,
I don't have that link. Can you provide? Want to encourage new guys.

I'm not sure if this is the official consimworld forums but I go here:

http://social.consimworld.com/

There are links across the top and one of them is a forum link.

Then there is this link:

http://talk.consimworld.com/#_=_

It looks like 1990 web site but I do think it gets more visibility / use than the first link I sent.

Here is the game conventions link (which I have posted to before, but have not this year since I lost my pw and need to have them reset.)

John,
I went to the second link you listed and to conventions. Saw three guys interested but could not get through on this site to inquire. Tried to post there, but forgot my password. I requested a reset and will post something but can't fix the site issue.

All

I finally remembered to check out this site now that winter is approaching. I see that I'm late to the party with all the discussion about possible games. I saw Lee and Tom Beach at Buckeye con. I was part of the CS team playing MMP Line of Battle series game Last Chance for Victory. I see that John Loy and Ric Van Dyke mentioned here. They played in this game. Its a great system even though the CS had terrible command rolls. I would be up for playing any game in the line of battle series.

Lee, it was I who talked to you about this game:
"Someone (name still forgotten, sorry) suggested a Marne 1918 game, I think it's this one? https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/278 ... iedensturm It sounded interesting from his description."

This would be my first choice on a game. It is my favorite wargame and an awesome design, with many unique aspects to the rules. I brought it last year and showed it off to several guys. Lee Hamer came to my home over the summer and we played its companion game: Somme 1918, a much shorter game. While its only a 1 mapper, if falls into the monster game group because it would take several days to complete (unless one side is blown out by achieving an unlikely sudden death victory). It would work very well with 2 per side. Its also somewhat unusual in that both sides get a number of opportunities for major offensives, so a player has to become adept at both attack and defence. Unlike many WW1 games, it is a very mobile system.

Otherwise, I read that Normandy 44 is being mentioned. I have played it several times (as well as Ardennes 44) and agree that it is an excellent game and am willing to join in playing it. I think someone mentioned playing the new MMP SCS version of D-Day (Day of Days?) which I'm interested in playing.

Hi Thomas,

Welcome to our humble internet abode. I'm glad you found us and hope you can attend. If you have any questions about anything related to Winterfest let me know. At this juncture it's not too late to play or suggest anything. We usually go through this process every year making decisions on what we individually want to do as well as what group(s) / games we don't mind playing.

Received my copy of Clash of Arms' 'Dresde' on Saturday. Wow.

We're gonna have to give that one a go someday soon, Mr. Mignery!
